Chris Spiker/TV Reporter WBTW-TV CBS Myrtle Beach, SC
Chris has been hired by WBTW-TV in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Chris is working as a general assignment reporter for this CBS station. Chris came to American Talent to shoot some new materials including some hard news packages, anchoring materials, etc.
"I feel like my reel has gotten me much more contact with news directors. I received my first job offer Tuesday as a reporter at Spectrum News in Rochester, NY (market #76). I had a phone interview with the ND at WBTW in Myrtle Beach yesterday. And I think I would like to work for this station. I just wanted to update you on how things are going now that I'm getting more interviews and visiting places. Thank you again for all your help." |
Briana Aldridge/Morning Anchor WTAP-TV NBC Parkersburg, WV
"A month ago I didn't know where to start, and then I found American Broadcast Talent. They broke down everything I had to do, and made me feel really comfortable. I was able to gain confidence reading from the teleprompter and also the structure of writing packages. I've learned so much from Randy and Kathleen in the short amount of time I worked with them. It was an investment money wise, but receiving two call backs the day after I sent my resume and reel was well worth it. I would recommend their excellent service to anyone looking for that extra help to land their dream job."

LANDON MCBRIDE/SPORTS ANCHOR KTVF-TV NBC Fairbanks, AK
I had looked for a job for more than a year without having any luck, not even an interview before. I was a little skeptical at first when I heard about American Broadcast Talent but after talking to Randy, I did it and it paid off quickly. The demo tape they helped me make looked amazing but this isn't just a place to go make a demo tape. Afterward they gave me a places to look for jobs and whenever I had an interview I could call Randy and he would go through what types of questions I might be asked. After a few months of sending out my demo I got a job as a reporter/sports anchor.
I just want to say thanks again for all the help. |
Landon comes all the way from Longview, TX. He graduated from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) with a major in sports media and minor in political science. "Thank you for all that you've done for me. I appreciate all the time you both spent in helping me further my career. When I arrived at your studio, it felt like I was at my old TV station where I used to work. Your studio is top notch with state of the art equipment, and I must say that you both delivered 110% of what you promised.
Kathleen, I sincerely appreciate your assistance in helping me decide which outfit to wear for each take. You made me feel very comfortable being so kind and patient with any questions I had. Randy, your knowledge is incredible when it comes to perfecting an on-air delivery. What I learned from you exceeds any of my prior |
experience including college. You also spent time teaching me about the process when applying for jobs. I never realized how important it is to follow up with News Directors and how many job websites there are out there. I have always been the type to ask a lot of questions, and you answered each one thoroughly. You opened up my eyes to the process of landing a job. I think you should write a book some day on how to get an on-air job in TV.
Above all -- you kept your word of being there for me if I had any questions about anything. You recommended that I call you before speaking with my potential employer, and I'm more than happy that I did! That means so much that you actually care about me as an individual in helping me follow my dreams. All I had to do was give you a call, and even if you were out in the field shooting video, you would promptly respond back with a phone call.
I will definitely stay in touch with you both as I continue to further my career. The next time I'm in Orlando, I would love to get lunch and catch up! Thanks again for everything."
Sincerely,
Mandy Knight

"I went to Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications; the most highly touted broadcast journalism school in the country. I can honestly say that I learned more in one day from American Talent about how to be on-air ready i than I did in my four years at college. Randy and Kathleen most importantly are good people. They are Funny, confident, personable and I wish I could’ve spent more than just one day with them! I trust them and know that they genuinely care about my future in this industry. I conveyed to them exactly what I needed from my demo reel and the results were above and beyond my expectations. In the coming

I can not thank American Broadcast Talent enough! Creating a demo reel and trying to get your foot in the door as a TV Reporter is almost impossible by yourself- even after graduating from a top university like I did.
Before contacting American Broadcast Talent I was intimidated and overwhelmed by the whole process. But Randy and Kathleen changed everything! They gave me the tools, expertise, and confidence to follow my dream and succeed! After just one week of sending out the demo reel they created I was hired to be a Morning Anchor/ Producer! None of this would have been possible without them. |
Randy is a great resource with many years of experience and knowledge in the industry. Even after the demo reel was completed he stayed in touch to make sure I was doing well. He even gave me a killer recommendation that got me my first job. And when the contract was ready to be signed, he checked over it to help ensure my well being. He's like your own personal agent!
They also have a great hair and make up team that really transformed my look and made me pop on screen. The whole experience was wonderful. I highly recommend working with American Broadcast Talent if you are serious about making it in TV. There's no where better!"

I'm thrilled to tell you that I moved to Joplin, Missouri to be the weekend anchor for Fox-14 and weekday report for KOAM. I was grateful to have had a few different interviews and opportunities across the country. But when I came here, something felt right. Perhaps it was the people, the welcoming Midwest." |

Donnie Dwyer/Sports Anchor WICZ-TV FOX, BINGHAMTON, NY
Thank you Randy and Kathleen for all your help in creating this Sports resume tape. The communication was great between both of you on story ideas, reservations, and approaching future employers. The tape turned out fantastic and the selection of clips were great. I am glad you gave me a few weeks to prepare my own scripts and then had a chance to see it presented with the bright lights on. I want to thank Buffy, the makeup artist, who went out of her way to give me a great look and supply me with the information on what products to use in the future. I just bought a complete makeup kit recently and it is has been great. Overall, This was the easiest, painless, and least stressful tape I have ever made. You had confidence in me and I just rolled with it in all the reporting and anchor segments throughout the day.
|
I was coming down to Orlando with a new look that was different from the one at my previous station and you both were able to capture it for news directors to see. Again, I thank you for everything and without your help, I wouldn't have found a job in the business as quick as I did. Thank you!"
